Do you decorate for Halloween? Living with four generations under one roof, we tend to have loads of decor around the holidays. My mom likes more of the spooky halloween decor and I tend to lean towards classic, elegant Halloween. My grandmother, well she doesn’t really care — she just likes to admire what we create.
I stopped at my local HomeGoods over the weekend and found so many spooked out decorations. Of course, my son wanted them all!
Have you ever used Halloween garland before? I have not, but I am loving this mantel by Tidbits & Twine. She did a fabulous job creating a spooky mantel using picture frames as the focal point. Absolutely love the black and white theme!
This mantel from Rhonna Designs demonstrates just how easy it is to pair a few HomeGoods finds on a shelf and create a fun Halloween display. Nicely done!
Sarah from the The Yellow Cape Cod created this fabulous spooky mantel that is “livable,” as she describes it, and features a sparkly garland she picked up at HomeGoods. Kind of fun, right? I agree with her — I love Halloween, but tend to lean towards a classic spooky display that is easy on the eyes.
When I first started blogging, I created this spooky bookcase, below, with my mom featuring an old picture of my grandfather paired with black crows and silver mercury pumpkins. My mom giggled when she saw the picture of the lighting bolt and spooky eyes that I added, compliments of Photoshop. She said my grandfather would be smiling from heaven and chuckling at his feature on the blog!
Using a clock as the focal point, Kim from Charmed, I’m Sure creates this spooky display by using candle sticks and a tree branch paired with crows to create this fun, whimsical Halloween mantel. By using objects in varying heights, you can create texture and visual appeal to any display.
Are you inspired to spookify your home? I know I am! Whether you are creating an elaborate Halloween mantel or a simple vignette on a table top, your guests and family members will appreciate the mood Halloween presents in your home.
