Last Minute Halloween Tricks

There are some who have decked their halls and stoops for Halloween weeks ago, and then there are the rest of us. Fear not (pun intended)…here are three very quick last minute décor tricks to save the day!

The first idea is to paint pumpkins with chalkboard paint. Less mess and more fun! To learn how insanely easy this is, visit my personal blog, Your home, only better.

Now this second idea I found while driving to the pumpkin patch to get the above painted pumpkins, so I just had to pull over and take a picture to show you.

One big stake, a couple twigs, burlap bag and a pumpkin make a charming, rustic pumpkin scarecrow. (Tip, if you have kids, don’t let them see you spear the pumpkin head…too traumatic).

Ok, I saved the easiest idea for last. Grab some empty mason jars or clear vases, and fill them with colorful trinkets. Candy corn is an obvious choice (although the ease of access will make it hard to keep stocked). Or how about colorful fake vampire teeth? Eyeball candies? The possibilities are endless!

I wish everyone a safe and happy Halloween. Now go get your spook on and have some fun! But first, tell me what is YOUR favorite spooky décor that you’ve seen this year?
